Roger McDowell History Month Essay #1: Roger McDowell

My essay is on former Major League relief pitcher Roger McDowell. Roger is best known for being a tool. But not as a John Rocker tool, just more of a Bob Uecker tool. Perhaps his biggest claim to fame was being in a bunch of those MTV softball games like 15 years ago, so he has that going for him.

He once showed up to a game wearing his pants on his head. Which could be funny except it masks the serious problem of taking too many balls to the head. A malady also suffered by Paris Hilton. He wore earrings, claiming they were in protest to former Reds owner and former living person Marge Schott's earring ban, however, they were also quite smashing on him. Sparkle sparkle!

Roger guest starred in an episode of Seinfeld, where he played an oddly amusing character with some unique quirky aspect. He is currently the pitching coach for the Atlanta Braves, and he claims no responsibility for them losing the division for the first time in 200 years in 2006.
